Ways to Give

Radical generosity is powered by you. As a public community foundation, we raise every dollar we invest. Donors are critical partners in our philanthropic activism.

Make a one-time gift or become a monthly sustainer. Our monthly sustainer program enables you to support New York City’s women leaders to solve problems in their communities at a monthly level that makes sense for you.

To donate by check, our mailing address is:
The New York Women’s Foundation
Attn: Development Office
39 Broadway, 33rd Floor
New York, NY 10006
Tax ID: 13-3457287

  • Donate By Wire Transfer

Contributing via wire transfer is a quick and convenient way to complete your donation.

Prior to authorizing a transfer, please contact Kerry-Ann Henry at khenry@nywf.org.

  • Give from Your IRA

If you are 72 or older, you can maximize your impact by giving a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA without paying income tax on the distribution.

For more information, contact Kerry-Ann Henry at khenry@nywf.org.

  • Make a Gift in Honor of Someone Special

Making a gift in honor or in memory of a special person in your life can be a meaningful way to pay tribute to a loved one and their legacy. The Foundation will send a special card to your honoree acknowledging your gift.

Make your gift online or you can send your gift, including the name and address of the person you’re honoring, to:

    The New York Women’s Foundation
    Attn: Development Office
    39 Broadway, 33rd Floor
    New York, NY 10006

For more information, contact Kerry-Ann Henry at khenry@nywf.org.

  • Matching Gifts

Matching gifts are a powerful way to double your impact. Ask your employer about matching gifts; many will make an additional donation to The Foundation when you do. If your company matches gifts, simply send your company’s form to us, and we will do the rest.

    Send your form to:

    The New York Women’s Foundation
    Attn: Development Office
    39 Broadway, 33rd Floor
    New York, NY 10006

For more information and to email your form, contact Beth Allee at eallee@nywf.org.

  • Giving Through Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

A grant from your donor advised fund (DAF) can help sustain the movement for gender, racial, and economic justice for the long-term. You can recommend a grant from your DAF through your fund administrator, set up recurring grants from your DAF, or name The New York Women’s Foundation as the beneficiary of your DAF.

For more information, contact Kerry-Ann Henry at khenry@nywf.org.

  • Donate Stock

There are many incentives and benefits to donating appreciated stock or mutual funds to maximize your philanthropic impact. To donate stock, email us at gifts@nywf.org and let us know how many shares of the stock that you will be donating. We do not always receive information about the donor, so it is important for you to let us know directly so we can appropriately credit and acknowledge your gift.

For more information, contact Kerry-Ann Henry at khenry@nywf.org.

  • Make a Legacy Gift

A legacy gift is a lasting investment that can provide important benefits to you and The New York Women’s Foundation. Making a legacy commitment is a way to ensure the growth and stability of The Foundation long-term and is a wonderful tribute to how much our mission means to you. We recognize donors who choose to make this type of gift by inducting them into the Polly W. Guth Legacy Circle.

For more information, contact Kerry-Ann Henry at khenry@nywf.org.

The Foundation's decision to be early funders of the Me Too was more than a simple investment. It was a commitment to cultivating a society where every voice is heard, every story matters, and where a growing movement knows no bounds.

#MeToo is more than a moment in time. We must keep fostering this movement until every individual has justice.

By embracing diversity and breaking down barriers, The Foundation and its Grantee Partners are working each day to create a world where everyone's unique abilities shine.

In 2019, The New York Women’s Foundation became a founding member of the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy and made a commitment to a continuous learning and implementation process that will advance systemic change within member foundations and serve as models for disability inclusion in the philanthropic sector.

Along with other grantmaking organizations, The Foundation also signed the Disability Inclusion Pledge in 2021, which recognizes that uplifting disability is a key element required to achieve social justice, equity, and inclusion, and calls for accountability as philanthropic organizations clearly define their efforts in this critical area.

This year, The Foundation continued this work with the release of a comprehensive report examining The State of Women and Girls with Disabilities in New York. This landscape analysis focused on existing and emerging disability justice and inclusion efforts at the intersections of gender and racial justice.
