The New York Women’s Foundation has released a new report, The State of Women and Girls with Disabilities in New York! This landscape analysis focuses on existing and emerging disability justice and inclusion efforts at the intersections of gender and racial justice across New York City and State, and areas for funding that would support the work of disability justice leaders and advocates.
In alignment with The Foundation’s mission and values, the final report of findings includes an overview of organizations leading this critical work, a spotlight on community-based leadership moving this agenda forward, and information on emerging groups supporting gender and economic equity by and for people with disabilities.
On April 26, 2023, The Foundation presented findings from the report at the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice in conversation with movement leaders in a panel discussion. You can watch the recording here.
The release of this report is part of a continued dedication to bringing disability justice to the center of intersectional funding discussions. On December 7th, The Foundation’s Ana Oliveira will be joining the Disability and Philanthropy Forum’s “Disability and Long Covid Webinar” alongside one of our grantee partners Strategies for High Impact – Long COVID Justice for an important conversation about the implications of Long COVID for the disability community.
