The New York Women’s Foundation mourns the passing of Martha Baker. Martha was a key leader in the women’s rights movement, and worked tirelessly as a political activist, NY Paid Leave Campaign leader, and founder of former NYWF grantee partner Nontraditional Employment for Women. We were proud to acknowledge her significant efforts with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 for her lifelong advocacy for the advancement of women at the local and national level. We express deep gratitude for her unwavering commitment to economic security for women and families.
